what is in my make-up bag.

hello, again! time for a long and overdue blog post about make-up. this blog post is about the make-up I use, when and how often I use it, and the pro's and cons of each item.

Base/face

The first thing I use it the 'Bare Minerals- Mineral Veil', which is my concealer. I put this under my eyes, to minimise the appearance of dark under-eye circles, in the corners of my nose where I get a bit of redness, and the obvious- over my blemishes.
Also, because it is a powdered concealer, it is very light, and I can keep applying until I get the right amount without having to feel that I am wearing too much.
This is worn everyday for light coverage.

After applying my concealer, I then apply my 'Bare Minerals- Original Foundation', which I have in the shade 'fairly medium' ( a fairly pale shade). Again, the property of it being a powder is helpful, as it feel very light unlike many liquid foundations that i have tried in the past. It is especially nice to wear in the summer, because it is essentially weightless.
This foundation is perfect for both daytime and evening, as it gives you flawless coverage.

Next, I apply my bronzer, which is the 'Barry M- Afterglow Light Bronzer'. This is a perfect shade of bronzer, as it only adds a little colour, but still allows you to build on it if you would like a deeper, more pigmented shade. it also has a slight shimmer to it, which looks so pretty in the sun!
Naturally, you only get tanned in the summer or when it is hot and sunny, so I only wear this in the summer. However, for those of you who self-tan, you can also use it then.

Blusher comes next, and I have the 'Collection-Blush' in the shade 'Cheeky'. This is a peachy-coral colour, and gives a lovely shade to your cheeks. However, it is not very pigmented, so you do have to apply quite a fair bit to get a better finish.

eyes

In my eyes (see what I did XD), this is one of the best mascaras ever. It is the 'Too Faced- Better Than Sex Mascara'. It gives you great colour, great length and great volume. Also, with this, there is definitely a case of the more, the better; especially if you are going out in the evening or are going to a special occasion.

The wand of this mascara has a wonderful hourglass applicator, which is what gives you the volume. also, the curves give you better coverage, so it you can easily catch the eyelashes that a 'normal' wand wouldn't give you.

For eyeliner, I use the 'EXTREME 24 hour felt tip liner' by 'collection'. I don't like pencil, but im not a fan of gel or liquid eyeliner. However, felt eyeliner works perfect for me.
Precision is key with eyeliner, and with this, that is exactly what you get. Also, being a 24 hour eyeliner, it stays on for the entire day, with no smudges!

lips

One of my favourites is the 'Clinique- Chubby Stick' which i have in the shade 'Mighty Mimosa. This is  very moisturising, and is considered as a tinted lip balm more than a lip stick. It is a very natural pinky-nude colour and looks gorgeous for a natural everyday look, and for the evening or an event as well. I wore this to my end of secondary school party (Prom) and it looked so lovely.

Another recent favourite of mine would be the 'Guerlain- KissKiss' lipstick in the number 325 ( unfortunately, I do not remember the name of the shade, as it has worn off). This is a Gorgeous red tone, and is a Red Red. I use it as more of a statement colour to jazz up my make up, if i have a natural base and natural eyes.

My final favourite for lips is the 'Clarins-Instant Light'. it is a moisturising gloss with a slight tint in it, and it illuminates your lips to make them look healthier and fuller. This works very well on top of Clinique's Chubby Stick' as it locks in the colour, and adds a more glossy tome to it.

I hope you guys enjoyed this blog, and hopefully some of you may want to invest in the products yourself!

VO5 product review

I recently tried out the new VO5 'give me texture' sea salt spray and effortless wave creation foam. I wanted to have products at hand for when i wanted to add a bit of...well, texture to my hair during summer. I had heard a lot about sea salt sprays so I thought i'd give it a go.

first up, I tried the sea salt spray. I followed the directions exactly, but... nothing. My hair would 'frizz' when wet, but as soon as I blow-dried it (as instructed), it just went flat again. I was a little disappointed with the result, but at least it smelt good!

Now this was a shocker... The effortless wave creation was what I expected it to come out as- foam. However, I did not expect the result that I gained. Again, I followed the instructions exactly by applying it to my hair after washing it and 80% blow-drying it, and what happened? my hair became EXTREMELY dry, tangled and sticky when touched or brushed. I felt as if this product has damaged my hair as after 3-4 days, my hair is still very dry.

I was looking forward to trying these products as I had heard that VO5 were a good hair brand. I don't know if this happened because of my hair type, or if there is a better way of using them besides from following the instructions but I don't think I will buy them again.

let me know if any of you have experienced any issues along these lines or have found a way to resolve the problem experienced.

thanks for reading :)
